There is a commercial running on local TV channels announcing the Grand opening of the new Tanger Outlet Mall – but it has confused some people. At the end of the commercial the words “now open” caused a few people to travel down to the mall only to find construction is still going on!
The Tanger Outlet Mall is located along Interstate 45, Texas City, just south of Holland Road. The 350,000 sq. ft., 80-store mall will hold its grand opening this weekend from October 19-21, 2012.
Stores will open October 19 at 9 am; a special ribbon cutting opening ceremony will take place at 10 am. A free concert by American Idol’s Kris Allen will begin at 7 pm, and a special fireworks display will take place after the concert. Throughout this weekend, strolling entertainers, fashion photo booths and more, are scheduled to appear.
I have been told some people have received special opening flyers with coupons in the mail, but I have not received mine yet! Don’t be alarmed if you see cars at the mall on October 18th, a sneak-preview (invitation-only) gala is being held to benefit cancer research and treatment at UTMB.
