“A Texas Historical Evening” Presentation at Butler Longhorn Museum

The Butler Longhorn Museum, located at 1220 Coryell St, in League City, will host a lecture on Thursday, March 21, from 7-9 pm. A social will be held before the lecture at 6:30; seating is limited, RSVPs must be made by March 19th.  Admission is free, however, a $10 donation is requested to benefit The Butler Longhorn Museum.

Debbie Groce, speaker and member of the League City Historical Society, will present the lecture “The Life and Times of Sarah Groce Wharton”. Ms. Groce will discuss the Groce Family history as it relates to the Austin Old Three Hundred Colony, the Runaway Scrape, Victory at San Jacinto, politics, agriculture and social life during the early days of the Republic of Texas until Mrs. Wharton’s death in 1878.
