Seabrook`s 11th Annual Lucky Trail Marathon, March 15th - 16th
Posted In: Events & Attractions | Seabrook News Posted by Pam Moore on 03/13/2014

The City of Seabrook is sponsoring the 11th annual Lucky Trail Marathon to be held by the Running Alliance Sport (RAS) on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday March 16. RAS is gearing up to welcome as many as 1,800 runners from as far away as Alaska, Pennsylvania, California and Florida and as close to home as Louisiana.

The Annual Seabrook Lucky Trail Marathon course starts at Rex Meador Park, located at 2100 Meyer Road, Seabrook. The race is held on the nature trails surrounded by a diverse habitat of both fresh and salt marsh, the coastline of the Galveston Bay, wetlands, and wild-life and bird sanctuaries. The loops make for a supporter and spectator-friendly course, enlivened for the runners by encouraging jokes and fun facts posted along the trail. The park's nearby picnic and playground facilities make it family-friendly as well. The half Marathon will be held on Saturday, and the full Marathon on Sunday.

For more details about the challenges and general information about the marathon, visit the Seabrook Marathon website. Proceeds from the race benefit The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a non-profit organization that assists survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence in eight area communities. Running Alliance Sport was able to donate $35,000 to The Bridge from the 2013 Lucky Trail event.
