The annual Houston/Galveston National Weather Service Hurricane Workshop aims to prepare Harris and Galveston County residents for hurricane season through presentations, interactive exhibits, a “Kids Zone”, hurricane forecasting and more.

This free event held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas, Houston, is family-friendly and open to the public. The workshop is the largest of its kind in the nation with more than 2,500 attendees each year.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
Posted In: Events & Attractions Posted by James Brockway on 08/12/2012

Whether you are new to Houston, considering relocating to Houston or you are a current resident, if you are not already aware of the fantastic museum district we have here, you should be.  Today I visited Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, currently running through September 23rd.  The exhibit was very well done, taking you through mock-ups of the interior of the ship as passengers would have seen it, while giving you the blow-by-blow events of the days leading up to the disaster.  Don’t miss the New Hall of Paleontology either-the dinosaurs are really incredible!
