The League City Garden Club Wildflower Projects
Posted In: League City News Posted by Pam Moore on 12/23/2012

Have you seen this sign at the intersection of Hwy 96 and Hwy 3 in League City?

Hey 96 and Hwy 3 in League City, TX
I had heard about the League City Garden Club planting wildflower seeds along a stretch of Hwy 96, but wasn’t quite sure what area they had selected. Now the “mystery” has been solved with the posting of this sign.

With the help of the City of League City Streets Department, the LC Garden Club and volunteers worked on a “Wildflower Highway Project” as well as “Wildflower Plantings” at the Dudney Nature Center, Magnollia Creek Historic Cemetery, and the Butler Longhorn Museum. While they expect to see growth as quickly as 60 - 90 days, this will mean more bluebonnets in the spring as well as long as the rains come and go, I’m looking forward to seeing more color in many areas of League City.

The League City Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to awarding League City youth scholarships and to beautification and conservation of the areas in and around League City.
